UNIVERSITY COUNSELING SERVICES

University Counseling Services offers students personal counseling and psychotherapy as well as programs and activities to Boston College students. Students can consult with Counseling Services for help in addressing and understanding a wide range of problems and concerns.

BOSTON COLLEGE WOMEN’S CENTER

The Women’s Center supports, educates, and empowers students of all genders in an inclusive and welcoming space. Their staff works to engage Boston College students through mentoring programs, events, and conversations. They aim to create a campus free of sexual violence and provide a consistent and caring response for those who experience it.

THEA BOWMAN AHANA AND INTERCULTURAL CENTER

The Thea Bowman AHANA and Intercultural Center supports the undergraduate community—with a particular focus on AHANA (people of African, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American descent), multicultural, multiracial, and OTE (Options Through Education) scholars—in navigating college life. They offer programs to facilitate identity formation, build cultural competency, and create community across areas of difference.

BOSTON COLLEGE LGBTQ+ PROGRAMS

The Boston College Student Outreach and Support Services provides individual support, programming, resources, education, and outreach for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning students and their allies. They are a safe space for self-discovery and acceptance around gender and sexuality.

SEXUAL ASSAULT NETWORK

The Sexual Assault Network (SANet) provides listening, support, and advocacy for those in the Boston College community who have been affected by sexual misconduct and/or violence. SANet Advocates can accompany people to resources including the hospital for medical tests, evidence collection, judicial proceedings, police, community-based resources, or meetings with other support services. Additionally, SANet Advocates can provide referrals to campus and community-based supports.

BOSTON COLLEGE DISABILITY SERVICES

The Boston College Disability Services Office empowers students with medical, physical, psychological, and temporary disabilities to achieve their educational, career, and personal goals. THE RENFREW CENTER

The Renfrew Center empowers adolescent and adult females, transgender, and gender non-binary individuals to move toward recovery from eating disorders. Renfrew provides a safe therapeutic community that values complex feelings and understands the challenges involved in the recovery process. The Renfrew Center matches individuals with the treatment team and level of care they need to courageously work towards recovery. Their comprehensive range of services include Residential, Day Treatment, Intensive Outpatient, and Outpatient Services at locations nationwide, as well as virtual options and specialized programs. SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION (SAMHSA) NATIONAL HOTLINE

SAMHSA’s National Helpline is a free, confidential, 24/7, 365-day-a-year treatment referral and information service (in English and Spanish) for individuals and families facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations. Callers can also order free publications and other information.
