CARING COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS FORM
The Caring Community Connections Program provides support to students who are experiencing challenges by identifying and linking them to appropriate resources. If you are concerned about a student showing signs of distress, please submit a form with details of the concern. Student Advocacy & Support staff meet with students when concerns are submitted to provide a supportive environment in which to discuss the submitted concern, strategize ways to address the issues, and develop an action plan/appropriate next steps.

SMU STUDENT COUNSELING SERVICES
SMU Student Counseling Services offer SMU students a broad range of outpatient services, which are confidential and sensitive to issues of race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, religious preference, and disabilities. All counseling sessions are free and covered under the Health Services Fee.

STUDENT SENATE HEALTH COMMITTEE
The Student Senate Health committee is responsible for dispersing information about health-related resources and making them more accessible for the SMU community. They are also a student voice in any and all health concerns including Covid-19, mental health, and sexual health. If students or other community members have ideas for what could be better, the health committee is there to listen to these requests and relay them into policy.

OFFICE OF THE DEAN OF STUDENTS
The Office of the Dean of Students dedicates itself to providing proactive education, expert response, and intentional collaborations to address behavioral, persona, and academic matters. The department advances the Division of Student Affairs strategic plan by compassionately empowering students to make educated and informed decisions as world changers. The Office of the Dean of Students oversees the Office of Student Advocacy and Support, Student Conduct and Community Support, and the Dr. Bob Smith Health Center.

REDEFINING MENTAL ILLNESS (ReMI)
Redefining Mental Illness, or ReMI, seeks to serve as a place of emotional creativity for those impacted by mental illness through events like poetry slams, Survivor Speak-Out Open Mics, and partnerships with local NGOs or similar community partnerships. Additionally, ReMI is committed to education through on-campus programming aiming to educate peers, professors and other staff on subjects related to mental illness. In the long run, ReMI strives to destigmatize mental illness.

WOMEN AND LGBT CENTER
The Women and LGBT Center empowers students to increase awareness and understanding of gender equity issues. The center gives voice for women and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, with purpose to eliminate barriers, diminish prejudices, and create a supportive climate and space for all. They reach out to the SMU community to create dialogue around gender issues and LGBT initiatives and create a supportive climate and space for all.

OFFICE OF THE CHAPLAIN AND RELIGIOUS LIFE
The Office of the Chaplain and Religious Life contributes to a transformative university experience by encouraging the pursuit of goodness with all students, faculty, staff and administration. This office offers confidential, pastoral care for all students, faculty, staff, and administration covering a wide range of issues. Their perspective is that if you are a person of faith, no faith, or exploring faith, we can help you discern your next steps in all of life's transitions, be they planned or unexpected. OFFICE OF INSTITUTIONAL ACCESS AND EQUITY (TITLE IX OFFICE)
The Office of Institutional Access and Equity aims to increase awareness and understanding of University sexual and racial harassment policies through educational programs for faculty, staff, and students. It also handles any questions or concerns regarding Title IX and sexual violence and houses forms for filing sexual harassment complaints and reports.

DR. BOB SMITH HEALTH CENTER & SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND RECOVERY SERVICES
The mission of the SMU Health Service is to provide quality, caring, cost effective and convenient ambulatory healthcare and health education services in association with other university departments that promote healthy lifestyles and enhance academic productivity leading to satisfying and rewarding college experiences. Its offices host medical, dental, counseling, and testing services, which include student counseling and substance abuse and recovery services.

BIAS EDUCATION AND REPORT TEAM (BERT)
If you observe or experience an incident of bias, we encourage you to file a report online through the Bias Incident Reporting Form to SMU's Bias Education and Response Team (BERT). The BERT will provide information and referrals to resources, while also tracking incidents to examine trends and opportunities for education.

There are many professional and student resources in your residential commons that can help you in a variety of ways. These people are here to help, including your Resident Assistants (RA), Residential Community Director (RCD), Faculty-in-Residence (FiR), Commons Council Leadership, Student Wellness Champions, and other upperclassmen.

SUICIDE AND CRISIS CENTER OF NORTH TEXAS
Since 1968, the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas has served the people of Dallas, Texas and the DFW Metroplex. It is one of 80 centers nationwide to have achieved certification by the American Association of Suicidology.
