If you’re reading this, we are cheering you on.
Too often, people romanticize college saying “these are the best four years of your life!” What they fail to recognize is the growing responsibility and adventure into adulthood. Juggling academics, extracurriculars, jobs, and a social life is no simple task. At the very least, we are proud of you for trying. Through all the burnout and overwhelming experiences, you have survived.
We, as your Student Government executives, are here to support and uplift the student body in any way we can.
We are here to remind you that you are not alone in any struggles you face. Although it may not always appear that other people are fighting, a lot of internal battles go unseen– especially during the pandemic when we can be more isolated than normal. As your fellow classmates, we have seen how COVID-19 has affected mental health academically and socially. Mental health recourses are available campus-wide, so we implore the student body to utilize them. If anything, reach out to fellow students and our executive to start those difficult conversations; you will come out of it better than when you started. Your feedback is important to us!
If you gain anything from our messages, we hope that it is that we are your support system. We are here to serve you and remind you that you are never alone. You always have us in your corner.
Good luck this semester, Gamecocks! We are cheering you on!
